Stevie's golden balls

Steven Gerrard is pictured as his usual impassive, focused self in the Daily Mirror today.

The Liverpool skipper and England star is pictured holding the golden adidas ball that's going to be used specially for the World Cup Final.

And Stevie G, of course, is hoping England will be there, in Berlin, on July 9, to hoof the golden sphere to World Cup glory.

If that's going to be the case, then we reckon the England players had better stay fully focused on the task ahead and keep their wives and girlfriends at a distance.

Not that there's much chance of that happening, according to the Daily Star.

In the build-up to the World Cup, we hear England's zillionaire stars are going to have a "week-long love-in with their sweethearts on the sun-kissed Algarve" - to use time-honoured Starspeak.

The players will be, ahem, relaxing, with their ladyloves at the resort of Vale Do Lobo.

Yes, Do Lobo. It's a tabloid dream, isn't it?
