Fat Les comeback!

Blur bassist Alex James is keen to take on Embrace's official World Cup song with the help of his trusty Vindaloo-guzzling mates, Fat Les.

But James appears to have forgotten just how much all this football guff means to us English.

"Every winter I forget how cold it gets," James says. "And it's like that with every World Cup - you forget how f***ing huge it is.

"The whole world comes to a halt. People have been saying, 'Are you going to do a football record?' and I'm like, 'No', but you start getting a sniff of it. And it's like, 'Embrace?' I'd do a f***ing better job than that."

Embrace have yet to release their World At Your Feet offering, but the general consensus seems to be that it might suck, even before hearing the poor lads out!

James, who is currently fronting the bonkers poptastic WigWam outfit with the lovely Alison Clarkson (aka Betty Boo), says Fat Les cohort Keith Allen has been calling him to get involved.

"I've been thinking about it. Ian McCulloch's been singing 'Come on, come on, you f***ing England' to the Bryan Ferry song Let's Stick Together," he revealed.

"You take the backing track from that, stick McCulloch singing 'Come on, come on, you f***ing England!' and Embrace can f**ing suck my c***."

We think you're onto a winner, lads.
