Wayne Rooney is doing his bit to stir up some early World Cup fever.
The man-sized Shrek posed next to the World Cup in London, but turned down offers from officials to allow him to hold the gold statue.
"I wouldn't touch it because it could jinx our chances," he said.
And then our secret weapon in this summer's competition said those words we've all been longing to hear: "I'll just pick it up when we win it in Germany."
That's right, folks, it's official - that cup has England plastered all over it.
But everything Rooney said after that patriotic promise, has somewhat lessened our respect for the man.
The tabloids are having a field day with his admission that he cries at chick flicks, and likes listening to Cliff Richard.
Oh dear.
The sob-fest film in question is Russell Crowe's Cinderella Man.
Wailing Wayne tells the Sun: "It was really good. I watched it with my girlfriend and there was a few tissues coming out at the end."
Did he actually cry?
"It was a bit sad - so yeah! I'm the same as anyone else and it was a sad ending."
Crying at a "sad ending"? Let's hope the Roonster conducts himself like a man if England have a sad ending this summer.
