Upbeat Sven

Sven-Goran Eriksson is in a defiant mood over The Roon and Little Michael. Ooh, get him.

Our Dear Leader has tipped his England side to reach this summer's World Cup final in Germany.

The Swede has several injury doubts over key players including Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen, but remains upbeat about his side's chances.

He told the FA's official website: "I believe we are one of five or six teams who can win it.

"If we have a bit of luck, our ambition must be to be in the final in Berlin on 9 July. I think we will get there.

"You can't mess around with winning games in a World Cup. We will try to win every game and see where that takes us.

"The squad is better (than four years ago), the team is better and we have more experience.

"No other team will have as many supporters travelling to follow them and we hope we will see them provide the same amazing support.

"I am excited about what we can achieve in this World Cup. We have a chance to make history."
